Rousseff says Petrobras share in pre-salt oil projects "isn't so large"

Petrobras (NYSE:PBR) ended sharply lower after initially posting gains when the state-run oil company announced deep cuts in its planned spending, as the stock may have been undercut by comments from Brazil Pres. Rousseff.Rousseff appeared to play down the possibility Brazil might need to change the law that currently requires PBR to have at least a 30% stake in groups that drill for oil in the country's pre-salt offshore reserves, saying the 30% share "isn't so large."Rousseff also said low oil prices mean private-sector energy producers are looking for partners "that know what they are doing" and that PBR has the know-how to take advantage of Brazil's offshore reserves.

PBR from Reduce to Hold, while raising the price target from BRL9 to BRL15.

What Is Seadrill's Real Exposure To Petrobras' New 5 Year Spending Cut?

Brazilian state-run oil company Petróleo Brasileiro SA said Monday it plans to slash investments by 41% over the next five years.
In addition to lower capital expenditures, Petrobras ramped up plans to sell assets. The company now expects to divest $15.1 billion in 2015-16.
Petrobras reduced its outlook for the price of Brent crude oil to $60/b in 2015 and $70/b for 2016-2019. Last year PBR was projecting $95/b.
SDRL has six rigs contracted by PBR which represents $1.7 billion in revenue backlog.
